Sophie & Paul

Sophie & Paul - Eynsham Hall, Oxfordshire

This is one of those drop dead gorgeous weddings that as a wedding industry professional you're just excited to be a part of! I met Sophie for a couple of trials while we played with her wedding hair and makeup look - she always seemed to be swanning off to bottomless brunch afterwards! I love the final look we decided on with her low up do with tonnes of volume and a natural glam makeup which was a bit more glam then natural!  Everything suited her perfectly and she looked stunning on the day.

"Thank you so so so much for everything on the day! I felt amazing and you really made me feel stunning... it did take me about half an hour to get the hair out though!"

The wonderful Danielle from the team assisted on this wedding as we had 6 bridesmaids, bride, MOB, MOG and Nan to pamper!

Their fabulous photographer was Benjamin Wheeler

Jo Frost – Killer Kids. Behind The Scenes

Jo Frost - Killer Kids. Coming soon to Crime & Investigation.

A little while ago I had the honour of working with Jo Frost on Killer Kids with the fab team at Woodcut Media. I genuinely cannot wait to see this show when it airs later in the year on Crime & Investigation. For now though a little look behind the scenes.

Truvelle Bridal Look Book Shoot in Turkey – Behind The Scenes

Truvelle Brand Shoot - Turkey

A few months ago I was in Turkey with Canadian brand Truvelle Bridal to shoot their 2018 look book! We travelled to Cappadocia in central Turkey.  After a long day travelling we started our trip with a team dinner in a local restaurant - sat on cushions on the floor we tucked into traditional Turkish Kebab cooked in clay pots and the home made wine - both where delicious and perfect!

After an early night we were up at 4AM to do hair and makeup (oh the glamour!) as the balloons set off around 5.30AM for sunrise.  While the early start may have felt tough before hand as soon as we saw all the balloons it made it all worth it!  I cannot wait to see the shots from Kirtsty @ Blush Wedding Photography.  Until then - here's some of our behind the scenes!

Stunning Wedding Hair Tutorial

Revisiting this stunning hair tutorial today!

This is the look I created for the Glitzy Secrets campaign - absolutely adore this stunning, natural look.

How To:

Step 1: Find your parting and section the hair into four sections. Pin the two sides – from the hairline to just behind the ear – and the top half of the back.

Step 2: Tie the remaining hair – the lower section of the back – into a low ponytail.

Step 3: Curl the hair in the ponytail with GHD’s, spray with Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray and backcomb from the tip of the hair to the root to create the stuffing. Pin up into a bun shape.

Step 4: Take the top section of the hair and curl individual sections – gently backcomb the roots and lightly pin into place covering the bun section. I used pins in the middle to hold the height on top.

Step 5: Take the side sections and curl small 1 inch (2.5cm) sections, lightly tease the roots and then pin over the pins from the previous step. Leave the ends of the curls out.

Step 6: Pin in the ends of each of the curls, covering any remaining areas where you can still see the ‘stuffing’.

Step 7: Loosely curl the front sections to finish the look.

Brand Shoot Hair & Makeup – Corporate Hair & Makeup

Hair and Makeup for Headshots

Brand shoots are increasingly popular within the wedding industry right now and I can see why - more personal then an old fashioned headshot I am a huge fan.  At The Boutique - our bridal shopping destination in Fulham we had amazing wedding planner Louise Perry and her right hand lady Natalie visit us on Tuesday to have some great new shots taken in our beautiful wedding surroundings.  Wedding photographer Guy Collier was here to take the photographs and videographers White Dress Films here to shoot the promo video - phew, what a busy day!  Mrs Jones Tea - our resident caterer here at The Boutique supplied a delicious afternoon tea - of which we're still eating the leftovers!  I did hair and makeup for both ladies which was a real pleasure having worked with so many of their brides over the years.
