London Christmas Wedding Hair and Makeup

December wedding hair and makeup, London.

Town Hall Hotel, Bethnal Green

In early December Tori was in East London for the start of the Christmas wedding season.  We love winter weddings, particularly on bright, crisp mornings.  December is usually a very busy month full of sparkle and embellishment and Candice’s dress certainly didn’t disappoint.  For her hair we went for a classic simple bun with modern twist in plenty of texture and curls at the from the frame her face.  For makeup we went for a glowy look with a silver soft smokey eye. In the winter light you can always go a bit heavier with makeup and with an embellished dress like Candice’s it definitely requires a slightly more “glam” makeup look!

A little note from Candice “I have been meaning to message you since the wedding to say a massive THANK YOU for doing my and the girls make up!!

Absolutely loved how make up and hair turned out!! So thank you!!”

Spring wedding hair and makeup at Hedsor House

Hedsor House, Buckinghamshire Wedding Hair & Makeup

On Saturday Tori was at Hedsor House for her first wedding of the year! While for other members of the team the 2019 wedding season started slowly as early as February this was Tori and Pro Team artist Danielle’s first wedding of the year.  For Danielle it was also her long awaited first trip to Hedsor House! An iconic venue she’s been itching to work at for years so we just had to have Danielle assist Tori – Danielle’s already got another two wedding bookings there this year!

Soph went for a natural makeup look with a statement red lip which suited her perfectly – for her eyes we had nude eyeshadows a soft black flick and a few false lashes to give her a real flutter.  Her hair was a tousled wave and half up half down which suited her dress perfectly.  We cannot get enough of these pictures, such a stunningly beautiful classic bride.  That bridal suite at Hedsor was the perfect backdrop!

Soph and Tobei’s photographer was the amazing Rebecca Carpenter Photography  who had the first previews of their incredible day ready to share by Sunday morning!

London Elopement at The Ned

Last summer I was at The Ned in London with Alexandra of The Bijou Bride for an intimate London elopement. I was on hand for Jessica’s hair and makeup. Jessica and her fiancé had flown in from the west coast, USA so we hadn’t had a chance to do a pre-wedding trial. Instead we’d had a FaceTime chat and shared Pinterest boards with each other. On the day everything came together magically.

The elegant but messy and big hair style Jessica picked suited her classic dress and alternative style perfectly.  Her makeup was natural but smokey and had red lips which picked out the deep reds in her bouquet perfectly.

Four Seasons, Hampshire Wedding Hair & Makeup

Four Seasons Hampshire Bridal Hair & Makeup

Throwing it back to summer 2018 today on the blog, oh the memories of that sweltering heatwave! For this adorable couple we had the pleasure of working with last year their wedding day was no exception it was seriously hot!

We met Tracey and Louise when Caroline Sian Weddings contacted us to see if we could look after their hair and makeup needs for their wedding day.  We had Tori look after Tracey at The Four Seasons in Hampshire and Olta met Louise at Northbrook Park (where the wedding took place) to do hair and makeup there!

As we gazed out of the window at The Four Seasons the usually beautifully manicured green lawns were parched and brown, as was most of the UK! The sun shone in through the window, it was another perfect summers day and while we were probably a degree or two too warm absolutely no one dared complain.  I loved 2018… almost all of my weddings were dry, beautiful days!

Tracey gave us this amazing feedback:

“Tori is a fantastic hair and make-up professional who was a hugely calming influence on my wedding day! She was super friendly and chatty during both my trial and on the day, helping to ease my stress. She reworked my hair several times during the trial until I was fully happy. I loved the way she did my make-up; she listened to how I liked to wear my make -up and then made me up better than I ever could! I highly recommend her – she’s easy going and funny, punctual and excellent at her job.”

Making me blush Tracey! Thank you so much, I absolutely loved spending the morning with you and your family. You were a total delight to work with!

Tracey also wore a stunning hair piece by Victoria Millésime which she picked out during her trial at The Boutique & Co.

Annie – Magdalene College Cambridge

Cambridge Bridal Hair & Makeup.

By Tori.

Annie was another bride who booked Louise Perry to plan her wedding who in turn recommend The Tori Harris Pro Team for hair and makeup.  I absolutely love working on weddings with Louise and her team, not just because Louise and Natalie are so lovely but because they’re exceptionally well organised too!

Annie’s wedding was at Magdalene College in Cambridge, I love travelling up to Cambridge for weddings – it’s where I grew up so I know the city well and love having an excuse to go back!  Not only that but it is absolutely beautiful in the summer when the river is packed full of punters and the river banks laden with picnic-ers!

I met Annie when she was here for a planning trip – based in the US she had limited time so we slotted her trial into this week.  At the trial we Annie went for a half up half down style however we felt like her hair needed a bit of extra volume.  When creating a half up half down style this can often be the case as you take so much of the hair in the half up section the part left down can feel thin and a bit “meh”!

Prior to the wedding day Annie paid a visit to my favourite extensions specialist Fox & Vamp who filled her hair with some natural looking and perfectly blended tape extensions.  Tapes are great for hair up as they lay flat to the head and so we can hide them perfectly.  For Annie’s bridal hair we plaited the half up style and then filled it with fresh flowers by from the wonderful Blue Sky Flowers. (Who more memorably for me helped my get my car out of the worlds tightest spot between a brick wall and sheer drop into the river – thank you Liz, you dream! Your driving skills are far superior to mine!!)

Annie’s makeup was natural as she doesn’t wear much and wanted to fill comfortable on the day.  As it was hot I used a slightly thicker foundation so that it would last and not just slide off! I also used a waterproof powder to ensure she stayed looking fresh!  I skipped all highlighter as I knew Annie would get a natural shine in the heat anyway and the highlighter would just look far too much in the photos in the harsh sun.

Annie left us this lovely feedback: “Tori was brilliant, doing exactly the natural looking hair and make up right from the outset, and giving me advice on how to get the look I wanted (eg hair extensions). She gave me a few looks before so I knew exactly what I wanted on the day. On the day she was super punctual, had us all ready in time and was a lovely presence to have in the room with us.”
